Beautify L.I. Radio is an extension of Beautify L.I. Inc., the nonprofit founded by host Tim McArthur with a mission to help make Long Island a cleaner, more connected and more compassionate place to live.

Your host, Tim McArthur, is a media veteran with more than two decades of experience spanning radio, television, print, live sports and entertainment. That experience has given him a deep understanding of audience engagement and the desire to use his skills in service to others.

A life-long Long Islander and father of two boys, Tim believes strongly in leading by example and aims to “leave the world a bit better than I found it.” His passion for community service, helping others and addressing the widespread litter problem on Long Island led him to bring the Beautify L.I. mission to the airwaves in April 2026.

Beautify L.I. Radio, airing Tuesdays from 4:30–5:30 p.m. on 103.9 FM L.I. News Radio, is a feel-good talk show created for ALL Long Islanders. Through interesting interviews, valuable information and community-driven conversations about issues that affect our everyday lives, Tim is focused on helping listeners learn, grow and connect with one another and to become more engaged members in their communities.

The radio show also serves Beautify L.I.’s mission, by shining a spotlight on the variety of people and organizations making a difference across Long Island, raising awareness about causes and community initiatives, and helping educate listeners and connect local residents with opportunities to get involved.

At the heart of Beautify L.I. is a simple idea: cleaning up Long Island is important but finding ways to KEEP it clean is even more important. The organization is working toward the development of the Beautify L.I. Street Fleet, a dedicated cleanup operation that will regularly address litter throughout the community while supporting and promoting volunteer cleanup events, educating children and their families, and encouraging Long Islanders to take greater ownership of the place they call home.

Beautify L.I.’s goal is not simply to pick up litter — it is to inspire a culture of responsibility, kindness, community involvement and respect for the environment we share. Tim’s professional experience, community involvement and ability to connect with people from all walks of life have made him a passionate and capable advocate for this cause… and he is an extremely proud representative and voice for all Long Islanders and people abroad.
