Supervisor Romaine Launches Town Wide Emergency Food Drive Starting February 25

Farmingville, NY – Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced that starting Tuesday, February 25, the Town will launch an Emergency Food Drive to help support local churches and food pantries that are in need of donations. Drop off boxes will be in the lobby of Town Hall, One Independence Hill in Farmingville and the following Town community centers until April 18:

  • Henrietta Acampora Recreation Center, 39 Montauk Highway in Blue Point

  • Mastic Recreation Center, 15 Herkimer Street in Mastic

  • New Village Recreation Center, 20 Wireless Road in Centereach

  • Robert E. Reid Recreation Center, Route 25A and Defense Hill Road in Shoreham

  • Rose Caracappa Senior Center, 739 Route 25A in Mount Sinai

  • St. Michaels Community Center, 1130 Old Town Road in Coram

“The snow storms have made it difficult for people to donate to the local food pantries and they are being quickly depleted,” said Supervisor Romaine. “It’s time that we all step up to help our neighbors in need get through the winter months.  I commend the Town’s Department of Housing and Human Services’ Youth Bureau for spearheading this effort and urge all residents to make a donation and help this worthy cause.”
