Rally for immigrants

Long Island immigration advocates say tuition aid should be given to students who were brought to the U.S. illegally when they were minors.

Supporters rallied in Hicksville yesterday, calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo to revisit a failed plan that would grant aid to those young immigrants by funding it through next year’s budget, “Newsday” reports. The demonstrators, who were stationed outside of the New York State Department of Labor, are seeking 25-million dollars in tuition assistance for next year. They say about two percent of next year’s budget would be well spent on investing in the talents and abilities of “Dreamer” students.
