Lockdown in Levittown


Police on Long Island are looking for a gunman in the shooting of 2 people inside a home in Levittown.

Preliminary information suggested the 2 victims had been wounded with a shotgun.

Neighbors told Eyewitness News reporter Kristin Thorne that they heard as many as 5 shots. Who did the shooting and where the suspect is located are questions that remain a mystery as of this writing.

Elementary and middle schools in the Island Trees School District in Levittown were placed on lockout as a precaution.

School officials were told by police that there is an armed man in Levittown and asked for students to be held in the schools.

Students are being kept in the elementary and middle schools under the “lockout” and buses are being held.

Students had already been dismissed from Island Trees High School.
