LIRR strike looms next month


Union leaders are talking tough about a possible Long Island Railroad strike next month.

Anthony Simon, who heads the union that represents most of the LIRR workers says they haven’t had a pay hike in four years and not likely to accept the three year salary freeze the MTA is demanding.

Congressman Peter King is among lawmakers putting pressure on both sides to reach a fair agreement before the March 21st deadline.
