More common core delays

State senator Ken LaValle is pushing for a delay on a controversial new teacher exam tied to Common Core.

“The Journal News” reports legislation proposed by LaValle would hold up the state’s new video-based exam for “education teacher performance assessment” for at least a year.  A similar bill was introduced last week by Manhattan Assemblywoman Deborah Glick.

College officials have said they have not had enough time to prepare student teachers.
