Judge revokes plea deal in hit and run jogger case

A Coram man will go to trial in the hit-and-run death of a jogger after a judge revoked his plea deal.  News 12 is reporting that Thomas Costa pleaded guilty to striking Karen Benjamin with his car as she jogged on Canal Road in Mount Sinai back in June.  A judge was supposed to sentence Costa to two to six years today, but was angry about a report that he lied to probation.  Benjamin was in a coma until she died in July and officials say Costa never stopped to get help.  Costa is due back in court in February.
