“Could be!” Bryan Cranston on Walter White’s re-appearance in the ‘Breaking Bad’ movie

Entertainment News  "Could be!" Bryan Cranston on Walter White's re-appearance in the 'Breaking Bad' movie https://linewsradio.com/could-be-bryan-cranston-on-walter-whites-re-appearance-in-the-breaking-bad-movie/ http://abcnewsradioonline.com/entertainment-news/

AMC(NEW YORK) — Bryan Cranston picked up his second Tony Award on Sunday night for his starring role in the stage version of Network, but now he’s giving some thought to the role that made him a household name: Walter White.

In an chat with Entertainment Tonight, Cranston played coy about whether there were any plans for his high-school teacher-turned meth kingpin to pop up in the planned Breaking Bad movie that will stream on Netfix.

“Well, rigor mortis has a way of allowing that to happen,” he joked about the interviewer’s choice of the term “popping up.”

If you need a spoiler alert by now, consider yourself warned: Cranston’s character didn’t survive the acclaimed show’s 2013 finale. But that doesn’t necessarily spell the end, he hints.

Cranston says that White “could” appear in the movie, adding, “Could be [in] a flashback, or a flash forward. I’m still dead Walter White — I don’t know what [could happen.]”

Since the movie’s a sequel, reportedly centering on Emmy-winner Aaron Paul’s character, Jesse Pinkman, a flashback certainly isn’t out of the question, but all involved are keeping mum.

It’s also not clear when the movie will debut on the streaming service.

The show in Hove was the 95th of Elton’s ongoing farewell tour, and the duet marked the first time than anyone has joined Elton onstage since the tour started back in September of 2018.

Rocketman, which was released late last month, has topped $100 milllion worldwide at the box office.

ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Kevin Hart is ready to take on a classic film for his next project.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned Hart is teaming up with Paramount Pictures to develop a remake of the Bill Murray 1988 Christmas comedy Scrooged.

The film, which was a modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, followed Murray as a mean, cynical and self-centered television exec who is visited by three ghosts who help him get back into the Christmas spirit.

Hart is expected to take on Murray’s role as Scrooge.

Scrooged, directed by Richard Donner, was a moderate box office hit, but was later became a cult classic favorite.

This is the latest project for Hart, who currently stars in The Secret Life of Pets 2. Next he’ll star in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which is set to open in theaters in December.

Justin Bieber challenges Tom Cruise to a fight, Internet laughs

Photo Credit: Chiabella James © 2018 Paramount Pictures. All rights reserved.(LOS ANGELES) — For reasons yet unclear, Justin Bieber chose to challenge one of the world’s most famous movie stars to a fight — but whatever comes of it, the Internet’s money seems to be on his opponent.

“I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon,” Bieber tweeted Sunday. “Tom if you don’t take this fight your[e] scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight?”

Cruise, who famously does his own stunts, hasn’t responded, but the Internet did for him. In short, the consensus is that the 56-year-old Mission: Impossible star, would trounce the 25-year-old recording artist.

One reply showed a GIF from The Avengers of The Hulk beating up Loki.  Another was a GIF of Cruise laughing on a loop.

“I think Tom cruise may be able to mess Bieber up,” one follower replied.

“Tom’s 12 years older than your dad, Justin. WTF,” another asked.

One person who’s taking the challenge seriously — or at least cashing in on another excuse to get a headline — is controversial MMA fighter Conor McGregor.

He tweeted, “If Tom Cruise is man enough to accept this challenge, McGregor Sports and Entertainment will host the bout. Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!

Church of England backs medicinal cannabis investments

WORLD NEWS Church of England backs medicinal cannabis investments  https://linewsradio.com/church-of-england-backs-medicinal-cannabis-investments/  http://abcnewsradioonline.com/world-news/

tvirbickis/iStock(LONDON) — The body responsible for investing the funds of the Church of England has said it is willing to invest in the medicinal cannabis industry for the first time, saying it holds the drug to the same standard as other pharmaceuticals.

The Church Commissioners is the Church’s historic endowment fund and holds assets worth £8.2 billion (nearly $10.4 million). The Church Commissioners is a closed fund, meaning it does not take in new contributions. Profits from the investments are used to pay for bishops and ministry costs, supporting local dioceses and clergy pensions.

The announcement follows a change in the law in the United Kingdom with regards to medicinal cannabis. The U.K. legalized the use of medicinal cannabis in November 2018, following in the footsteps of Canada and many states in the U.S.

“There has been no change to our overall position on medicines,” a spokesperson for the Church Commissioners told ABC News. “We will hold medicinal cannabis to the same standards as we hold other pharmaceuticals, and invest only if properly licensed and regulated for medicinal use.”

Investments in the medicinal cannabis market will have to fall in line with the Church of England’s Ethical Investment Policy, which places restrictions on how the Church can invest in companies that generate profits from industries such as gambling, alcohol and tobacco.

The Church’s willingness to invest in medicinal cannabis reflects how fast the industry is growing worldwide. The global legal cannabis market will swell from $11 billion in 2018 to over $50 billion in 2029, according to financial services company Jefferies.

Hari Guliani, the chief operating officer of the British medicinal cannabis Grow Biotech, told ABC News the announcement is “indicative that perceptions of medical cannabis are changing across the board.”

“There is a lot of research being undertaken globally on medical cannabis that will help everyone’s understanding, but it does seem that the distinction between medical and recreational cannabis remains unclear for some people,” he said. “With groups like the Church of England considering investments in medical cannabis, we can expect perceptions to continue to change.”

Number of measles cases over 1,000 in US for first time since its eradication

ABC News(NEW YORK) — The ongoing measles outbreak reached a new record, surpassing 1,000 confirmed cases in the U.S. so far this year.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Monday that there have been 1,022 cases in 28 states through June 6.

That marks an increase of 41 cases since the previous week. The last update noted that in the first five months of the year, from Jan. 1 through May 31, there were 981 cases confirmed.

The disease is now present in more than half of all states, with Idaho, New Mexico, Virginia and Maine confirming their first cases in the past several weeks.

The new total, while hitting the symbolic threshold of 1,000 cases, has already created records in that there have been more cases so far in 2019 than there had been in any other year since measles was eradicated in the United States in 2000.

In fact, there have been more cases so far this year than there have been in the past four years combined, according to CDC data.

Boy, 11, shot dead inside his home, sheriff searching for gunman

U.S. NEWS Boy, 11, shot dead inside his home, sheriff searching for gunman https://linewsradio.com/boy-11-shot-dead-inside-his-home-sheriff-searching-for-gunman/ http://abcnewsradioonline.com/national-news/

kali9/iStock(HOUSTON) — Houston authorities say they’re searching for a “coward” gunman after an 11-year-old boy was shot and killed inside his own home in the middle of the night.

The unknown gunman fired multiple shots at a family’s home in Channelview, Texas, at about 4:20 a.m. Sunday, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

An 11-year-old boy inside the house was struck several times and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Several children were asleep in the same room as the victim at the time, he said.

No one else was hurt, authorities said.

“This is a tragic, a senseless, a sad situation. This is a child,” the sheriff said. “And these are cowards that shoot into a home. They could’ve killed and injured a lot more people.”

Gonzalez vowed, “We’re gonna do all we can to bring justice to this 11-year-old.”

Anyone with information is urged to call the sheriff’s office.
