Photo by Earl Gibson III/WireImage(LOS ANGELES) — Comic actor Tim Conway, best known as one of the stars of The Carol Burnett Show, has died, his rep confirms to ABC News.  He was 85. Conway passed away in Los Angeles this morning from complications due to Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), otherwise know as water on the brain.

In the sixties, Conway played Ensign Parker in the sitcom McHale’s Navy, and appeared in a series of Disney family films with Don Knotts, including The Apple Dumpling Gang.  He and Knotts would work together on and off for years.

Conway was a guest performer on the first eight seasons of The Carol Burnett Show before becoming a regular in 1975. On that show, he was known for his characters Mr. Tudball and the Oldest Man — and for his ability to make his co-stars Burnett, Harvey Korman and Lyle Waggoner crack up on camera.

Conway won four Emmys for The Carol Burnett Show: one for writing and three for performance.

After The Carol Burnett Show, Conway had his own variety show, a sitcom and a hidden-camera series, none of which lasted very long.  In 1986, he debuted what would become one of his most famous characters — an extremely short Scandinavian man named Dorf — on The Tonight Show.  In 1987, he released the movie Dorf on Golf, which led to eight other Dorf movies about a variety of different sports.

Younger viewers known Conway from his work on SpongeBob SquarePants, on which he voiced the character Barnacle Boy — the sidekick to his McHale’s Navy co-star Ernest Borgnine’s hero Mermaid Man — and from his Emmy-winning guest spots on shows like 30 Rock and Coach.

Conway is survived by his wife of 35 years, his stepdaughter, his six biological children and two granddaughters. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations to be made to The Lou Ruvo Brain Center at the Cleveland Clinic in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Celebrities troll ‘Fresh Off The Boat’ star Constance Wu by “cursing” their own success

Entertainment News  Celebrities troll 'Fresh Off The Boat' star Constance Wu by "cursing" their own success https://linewsradio.com/celebrities-troll-fresh-off-the-boat-star-constance-wu-by-cursing-their-own-success/ http://abcnewsradioonline.com/entertainment-news/

ABC/Byron Cohen(LOS ANGELES) — For a working actor, learning your show has been renewed is one of the most thrilling pieces of news you can get.  But Fresh Off The Boat‘s Constance Wu seemed less than thrilled about receiving that news a few days ago — so now, other celebrities aren’t letting her forget it.

When ABC announced on Friday that the family comedy that made her famous would be returning for a 6th season, Wu tweeted: “So upset right now that I’m literally crying. Ugh. F***.”

The Crazy Rich Asians star followed that with, “Fu***** hell,” and responded “No it’s not,” when a fan talked about the “good news.” Since then, she’s deleted some responses — which were screenshot by People and other outlets — and tried to backpedal on others.

Other celebs started spoofing Wu by tweeting about their own good news.

“Oh fu***** god**** hell f*** f***…,” tweeted Orville star and producer Seth MacFarlane Saturday, when it was announced that the sci-fi show would be returning for season three.

Sam Lerner, from ABC’s The Goldbergs posted, “Ugh g*d dammit fu***** hell. So upset right now.”

Other stars with similar responses included Emergence‘s Allison Tolman and iZombie star Rahul Kohli.

Chris D’Elia offered this suggestion to Wu: “Just put me on the show. It will get canceled for sure.”

One common response to Wu’s reaction was to refer back to another seemingly ungrateful ABC star.

“Ask Katherine Heigl how that worked for her,” many noted.  The former Grey’s Anatomy actress infamously slammed the show’s writers, and openly criticized Knocked Up, the film which made her a bankable movie star, albeit temporarily.

Responding to the abuse, Wu posted, “I love FOTB,” and added that she was “temporarily upset” because, “renewal meant I had to give up another project that I was really passionate about.”

Don’t wash your chicken: Culinary pro shares top safety tips to properly handle raw poultry

fotek/iStock(NEW YORK) — When the CDC tweeted that washing raw chicken can actually spread germs, some home cooks were shook.

So GMA spoke to a chef and educator from the Institute for Culinary Education, Palak Patel, to understand the best practices for poultry prep.

Breaking it all down

Why is it unsanitary to wash a raw chicken?

Washing raw chicken can cause bacteria on the chicken to splash and cling to clean surfaces, including your hands, causing cross-contamination. Cut out any steps of washing chicken from the recipe entirely.

Just cooking poultry thoroughly eliminates harmful bacteria and pathogens.

What’s the safest way to handle raw chicken?

The safest way to handle raw chicken is to prevent raw poultry and its juices from touching other foods, especially fruits and vegetables.

Before and after handling raw poultry, be sure to wash your hands, surface, knives, tools and cutting boards with warm, soapy water for 20 seconds.

Where chicken is placed in the fridge and freezer is important as chicken juice has a tendency to leak outside of its container. This can cause contamination if it comes into contact with your produce or cooked food.

Place chicken package in a bag or remove and place it in a container. Alternatively, place it on a plate, then cover it — and always store it on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator.

How can you ensure a raw chicken is properly cleaned and sanitary?

After buying chicken, store it at a proper temperature in the refrigerator on the bottom shelf. If the chicken is frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight and not on the kitchen counter. At room temperature, chicken and raw meat can develop harmful bacteria.

Use thawed chicken within 48 hours and do not put it back into the freezer after defrosting.

Pre-prep all ingredients, including chopping and pre-heating pans, before handling raw chicken.

Pro Tip: Invest in two separate cutting boards, one for meat only and another for produce. Use tongs to handle raw and cleaned tools for cooked meat.

Don’t wash the chicken, but wash your hands before and after handling chicken. Limit handling raw food as much as possible during prep and cooking.

Once the chicken is cooked, the risk of food poisoning is gone, but if there is any cross-contamination during cooking, there is still a risk for illness from consuming the raw produce.

It’s not safe to refreeze chicken that has been defrosted.

The best ways to safely cook chicken

To cook chicken evenly, prepare a chicken breast by pounding it to achieve even thickness. Place chicken breasts on a sheet of plastic wrap, cover them with another sheet of wrap and give them a few whacks with a kitchen mallet, focusing on the thicker end. There’s no need to beat them thin, just even them out a little.

Start with patting chicken dry — you’ll get a much better sear and a better chance of getting that nice golden color. Dry surfaces ensure a seal from the outside to keep juices inside, keeping the chicken juicy.

Rely on a proper thermometer. An under-cooked breast isn’t safe, but an overcooked isn’t tasty. Use an instant-read thermometer to make sure the thickest end gets to 155 degrees. Carry-over heat will take it to 165 degrees, which is safe, without drying them out.

Pro tip: A digital thermometer reads temperatures accurately and removes any guesswork.

Marinating chicken breasts overnight is the best way to add flavor. Then, sauté them in a skillet.

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are very common because they are easy to handle and require very little cooking time. They don’t have much taste, though, so add a marinade beforehand or surround them with lots of flavor after they’re done cooking.

Ben Solomon/ESPN Images(NEW YORK) —  Amid uncertainty surrounding the future of 76ers head coach Brett Brown’s time in Philadelphia, managing partner Josh Harris has set the record straight.

Harris told ESPN on Monday night that Brown will return as the Sixers head coach next year for his seventh season.

Brown met with Harris and GM Elton Brand on Monday  to discuss plans for the franchise’s upcoming offseason. Philadelphia must decide which free agents on their roster to re-sign, including key pieces Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and J.J. Redick.

The Sixers owe Brown nearly $15 million on a contract extension, set to start next season.

Recently, Joel Embiid voiced support for Brown remaining as coach after the 76ers Game 7 loss to the Raptors in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Shooting on new James Bond movie paused after Daniel Craig injures his ankle on set

Entertainment News  Shooting on new James Bond movie paused after Daniel Craig injures his ankle on set https://linewsradio.com/shooting-on-new-james-bond-movie-paused-after-daniel-craig-injures-his-ankle-on-set/ http://abcnewsradioonline.com/entertainment-news/

© 2015 – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures/EON Productions(JAMAICA) — Daniel Craig has once again been injured playing James Bond, and now shooting on the 25th 007 adventure has been suspended while producers evaluate his ankle.

The Sun reports Craig hurt his ankle while running on the movie’s Jamaica set last week, and was flown to the U.S. for X-rays. As a result, production, which was to shift to Pinewood Studios in London, has been halted.

“He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly,” said the paper, quoting a set spy. “He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.”

The source continued, “As you’d expect, he was also pretty angry that it had happened. He threw his suit jacket on the ground in sheer frustration.”

Craig, 51, has suffered a few injuries playing the suave superspy. The first was during his first shot ever as Bond in 2005: He reportedly got two teeth knocked out on the set of Casino Royale

In fact, the actor has suffered injuries on most of the Bond movies he’s done: Craig tore his rotator cuff and sliced off a piece of his finger on his second outing, Quantum of Solace, and injured his knee getting picked up and thrown during a fight scene with Dave Bautista in SPECTRE. The latter required surgery that stalled production for two weeks.

At the time, Craig’s 007 stunt coordinator Gary Powell told Entertainment Weekly, “Wear and tear comes with the job. Bond [films] are always like this. Something always happens. You just never hear about it. This time, we got more publicity.”
