Gillibrand Pushes National College Sex Assault Bill

(New York, NY) — New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is pushing a national college sex assault bill and SUNY is the first college system in the nation to get behind it. The bi-partisan bill would create a yearly survey asking students whether they’ve been victimized. Gillibrand says sexual violence affects one in five college women. The bill would penalize schools that try to cover up incidents or don’t support women who report sex crimes.
