SPOTLIGHT ON LONG ISLAND SCHOOLS

Saturdays 10:30am – 11:00am

Heard every Saturday at 10:30 am, “Spotlight on Long Island Schools” is a 30 minute show highlighting LI School Districts, specific schools, students, and teachers.  It promotes school pride moments, communicates school messages and curriculum, while providing thought-provoking interviews and discussions with school officials and educational leaders in the communities we serve.

Hosted by Robert Vecchio, School board trustee since 2003 and Board President since 2006 for the William Floyd School District, the 4th largest school district in Suffolk County.  Mr. Vecchio is very active with the Nassau Suffolk School Boards Association and is a member of the legislative and executive committees.  He has been called upon to testify before the NYS Senate Education Committee on educational issues, having relationships with educational policy makers both on the federal and state level, and widely regarded as a strong advocate for public education.  Mr. Vecchio brings a unique perspective from multiple levels and is well versed in the current policy and financial issues school districts face.
