PSEG Long Island is preparing for the latest round of wintry weather expected to bring a mix of snow, sleet and ice to the area through Wednesday.
The utility company had all available personnel on hand Monday to deal with any weather-related outages due to the heavy snowfall and is taking similar precautions today when another storm may threaten to disrupt service. PSEG Long Island will be regularly checking equipment, fuel and other supplies, hiring contractors when necessary and coordinating with emergency personnel to ensure they are ready to handle any power issues.
A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect late Tuesday into Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, four to eight inches of snow are expected for Long Island.
