(NEW YORK) — Apple is warning of a security glitch in its software that could allow hackers to steal user data over unsecured wifi networks.
Apple would not comment on how or when it learned of this security flaw on its Secure Sockets Layer, or if the flaw was being exploited at all.
On its website, the tech giant stated, “An attacker may capture or modify data… Secure transport failed to validate the authenticity of the connection.”
The problem can affect anyone using an iPhone 4 or later model; iPod Touch; and the iPad 2, 3, and Air.
