Long Islanders are digging out…AGAIN…

WINTER STORM WARNING in effect for Long Island through 7PM.  Snow will be moderate to heavy through 4PM.   Snow showers continue through 7PM before ending this evening with clearing skies.  Totals will be 5 to 8 inches with the lower amounts for the East End.

The weather closed most schools throughout the island and caused headaches with every method of traffic.  While the numbers have been low so far, PSEG Long Island has been dealing with power outages throughout the island and expect to remain busy thanks to the wet, heavy snow.

The news does not get any better as we move through the week.  Another winter storm is heading our way for Wednesday with the possibility for a major weather event this weekend.  Keep your radio locked to 1039 LI News Radio for the latest from the Weather Center with John Wetherbee.

Woody fights back

Woody Allen is blasting allegations made by his adopted daughter as “untrue” and “disgraceful.”

Responding to Dylan Farrow’s open letter published in “The New York Times” over the weekend, the director’s attorneys said Dylan’s accusations of sexual abuse were “engineered by a vengeful lover” 20 years ago, adding “The one to blame for Dylan’s distress is neither Dylan nor Woody Allen.”

Dylan was adopted by Allen and his former partner, actress Mia Farrow, as a toddler.  Allen, who has been enjoying renewed attention over his award-nominated film “Blue Jasmine,” infamously took up with Farrow’s other adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, whom he eventually married.

More wintery weather

Maybe Holtsville Hal was wrong.  Right now, our local weather groundhog is off to a bad start.

While Holtsville Hal did not see his shadow yesterday, his prediction of an early spring obviously does not start immediately as another Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Long Island until 7pm…

WINTER STORM WARNING in effect for Long Island through 7PM.

Rain and snow will become all snow.  Snow will become heavy at times this morning through 1PM.   Periods of snow will continue through 7PM with sleet possible at times for the South Fork of Suffolk County.  Snow ends early this evening with clearing skies. Totals will be 5 to 8 inches for most of Long Island with 2 to 5 inches for the South Fork.   Travel will be dangerous with slick conditions and reduced visibility.   This will be a heavy wet snow that could take down tree limbs leading to power outages.
